New Jersey Cycle Studio Lights the Way for a New Kind of Ride

“Going Beyond Fitness” is the mantra and mission of challenge gym, nutrition center & cycle studio Extraordinary Fitness, located at the Jersey Shore in Toms River, New Jersey. Established in 2013 by Rudy Rosa, Extraordinary Fitness has grown over the past decade from its original 1700-square-foot boutique fitness studio to a 5000+ square-foot full-service health club, complete with a state-of-the-art cycle room. Members can choose from more than 85 classes each week, including boot camp, weight lifting, functional strength training, yoga and cycle. 

During the studio’s 10-week cycle challenges, securing a cycle bike for a live class can be much like buying concert tickets - these classes book up first and fast! Equipped with advanced technology cycle bikes, fully customizable recessed lighting, and a professional, high-quality sound system, Extraordinary’s cycle studio was already the most progressive and immersive cycle studio around. In addition to a large screen for virtual rides, a custom DJ booth was also built-in to provide even more interactive live rides.

But the studio’s 6’x6’ cycle instructor stage still needed an update - it was built of solid wood, making it ultra heavy and hard to move. Looking for a more modern and versatile solution, founder and coach Rudy Rosa contacted StageDrop about purchasing an acrylic stage as a replacement for the old wooden stage.

With StageDrop’s recommendation, Extraordinary Fitness purchased a 6’x6’ Lumo Acrylic Stage System and sound-activated LED smart strip lights to illuminate the stage.

The 6’x6’ Lumo Acrylic Stage is composed of 9 2’x2’ LumoStage modules with sound-activated LED lighting inside for a colorful, glowing effect. Each Lumo Acrylic Stage module boasts a heavy-duty aluminum frame and white translucent acrylic panels for the top and sides, which glow when lit from within. The 2’x2’ modules clamp together with included hardware to create a larger stage or dance floor. The whole stage assembles easily with the included hex key and hook and loop side panels.

Extraordinary’s new Lumo cycle instructor stage comes in at a total weight of only 135 lbs, and the sound-activated LED smart strip lights illuminate the stage from within, truly bringing the light-up party to each ride. Besides being a sharp-looking setup, this brilliant little LumoStage is also sturdy and durable, easily handling the weight and movement of the bike and instructor throughout the class.
